FINALLY - JUILLIARD!

 

For several years we have daily received the scheduled performances for Juilliard.  Because of that we have had a good sense of what drama, dance, and music is being offered.

 

Today, we finally attended a performance at Juilliard!

 

We rode the subway from our apartment to the Lincoln Center station.  From there is was a one block walk to the performance hall.  We have been fortunate to attend performances around the world.  There are no venues better in every sense than those at Juilliard.  Juilliard facilities are spectacular.

The performance we heard was the final in the horn competition between two young musicians.  Amazingly, the winner was a young man from Texas that had lived in San Antonio and was a friend to some of our friends.

Most of the performances are free.  Those charging for tickets cost in the range of $30.00/each.

THANKSGIVING 2012

2012 was our first Thanksgiving in NYC.  Our apartment is at 32nd & 6th.  Macy's is at 34th & 6th.  The Macy's Parade came south down 6th Avenue from Central Park and turned onto 34th for the Reviewing Stand.  Our view was from our apartment on the 34th floor.

 

 

 

 

 





 

 

 

 

 



 

 

 

 

THE BEGINNING - WHY!

 

 

 

 

We have dreamed and prepared to leave San Antonio, Texas and move to New York City.

 

After 40 years of private practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and living our entire lives in Texas, we are moving to NYC for a completely new adventure.  This adventure effectively begins at the beginning of 2013.

 

Since April 1st, 2012, we have had an apartment in NYC at 32nd and 6th Avenue.

 

 

 

 

 

We will live one block from the Empire State Building which is just outside our windows.  The following pictures were taken from our apartment.
