His debut CD, an all-Bach program, won a Diapason D’Or award."
"23-year-old French pianist Rémi Geniet’s playing has been hailed as “light and luminous, yet simply staggering in its pianistic musical maturity” (Diapason Magazine). He won First Prize in the 2015 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, Second Prize in the 2013 Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition in Belgium, First Prize at the 2011 Prix du Piano Interlaken Classics in Bern, Switzerland, and the Interpretation Prize at the 2010 International Horowitz Competition in Kiev, Ukraine.
Making his United States debut this season, Rémi Geniet opens the Young Concert Artists Series at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall and in Washington, DC at the Embassy of France. He also performs recitals at the Port Washington Library and Rockefeller University, and appears as soloist with the Richmond Symphony, performing the Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2. Highlights of his season abroad include re-engagements at the Folles Journées in Nantes and Tokyo, Japan and performances as soloist in France with L’Orchestre National de Montpellier and L’Orchestre National de Lorraine, in Russia with the State Symphony Orchestra “Novaya Russiya,” and with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. He appears in recital at venues including Germany’s Munich Gasteig, and he performs with violinist Daniel Lozakovitj at the Salle Molliere in Lyon and at the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence.
He has performed with orchestras including the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the St. Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Flemish Philharmonic, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Orchestre National d’Île de France, the Orchestre National de Montpellier, the Orchestre National de Lille, the Orchestra Philharmonique de Nice, the Orchestre d’Auvergne, the Warsaw Philharmonic in Poland, the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra and Kansai Philharmonic in Japan.
He has also been heard in recitals in Japan, Vienna, Geneva, Ghent, Brussels, Germany, Poland, and in French festivals and venues including the Auditorium du Louvre, Piano aux Jacobins, Piano à Lyon, la Grange de Meslay, the Festival International de Colmar, La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival, Festival de Radio France, Les Pianos Folies du Touquet, Pianoscope, Piano en Valois, Lisztomanias, Moments Musicaux de La Baule; and he recently opened the “L’âme du Piano” series at the Salle Gaveau to critical acclaim. Mr. Geniet has also performed at festivals abroad including Euriade Festival in the Netherlands, St. Petersburg Arts Square International Winter Festival, the Interlaken Classics Festival in Switzerland, the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, and the Montreal Bach Festival."
